Ogun residents protest, demand justice for singer Mohbad’s death

Abeokuta witnessed a peaceful protest on Tuesday, as hundreds of youths rallied for justice following the mysterious death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, famously known as Mohbad. The 27-year-old artist, a signee of Marlian Records Company, passed away on September 12th in Lagos.

Donning black tee-shirts, the demonstrators initiated their march from the Panseke area of Ogun’s capital city, displaying placards with messages like “Justice for Mohbad,” “Government must arrest Naira Marley' and Sam Larry,'” among others.

The circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s demise have been the source of controversy, prompting calls for a thorough investigation by the police to identify and apprehend any wrongdoers.

A protester named Ayo Michael expressed their sentiments, saying, “We are in pain!! Mohbad must not die in vain. We want the government to arrest anyone culpable.”

Another demonstrator, visibly upset Mustura Abiola, lamented, “That boy had a promising future, but his life was cut short.”

Boye Best, a colleague of the late singer, urged the government to conduct a meticulous and transparent investigation to ensure that justice prevails.

The Lagos State Police have already established a 13-member special investigation team to examine the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. (Source: NAN)
