Residents of Ogun living along the Lagos-Ibadan highway made an attempt on Wednesday to siphon fuel from a tanker that had overturned. A
ccording to reports from DAILY POST, the residents rushed to the scene with jerry cans in hand right after the tanker’s accident, leading to the blockage of the highway and the spillage of its contents.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the tanker’s accident to the press.
Florence Okpe, the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, stated, “A tanker has just crashed on the outbound section of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway near Danco.
The FRSC rescue team is already at the scene, the fire service has been notified, and precautions have been taken to secure the area and prevent a potential secondary accident.”
It is worth noting that this incident has resulted in significant traffic congestion on the highway.
