Ogun: Six feared dead after allegedly consuming alcohol served by friend to settle fight

In a devastating incident in Ogbogbo, Ijebu-North East area of Ogun State, six individuals have tragically lost their lives after allegedly consuming alcohol served by their friend. The heartbreaking event took place on Tuesday when seven friends gathered at a joint for a merry-making session.

Sources reveal that all six friends who drank the alcohol lost their lives, while the seventh friend, who had brought the drink from home, was the only survivor.

Prior to the incident, the deceased persons and the suspect engaged in a heated argument, which was eventually settled. As part of the reconciliation gesture, the suspect offered a bottle of alcohol to the group.

Later, the suspect returned home and brought the drink, which was consumed by all except him. Shortly after they went their separate ways, news circulated that two friends had died, and four others were hospitalized. Tragically, the remaining four friends also succumbed to the effects of the alcohol the next day, while the suspect fled the town.

As authorities investigate the incident, the whereabouts of the individual who brought the alcohol remains unknown.

Meanwhile, in another sorrowful occurrence in Lagos State, two siblings, Gbolahan and Olayinka Atolagbe, lost their lives when a fence collapsed on their house during a downpour in the Ikorodu area.

The bodies of the two children were discovered after hours of rescue efforts by concerned residents. The heartbreaking events in both Ogun and Lagos serve as a reminder of the importance of safety measures and vigilance in our everyday lives.
