A 26-year-old man, identified as Monday Edereno, has been confirmed dead after consuming a herbal concoction in Ogun State.
Edereno, who had been suffering from leg pain, traveled from Ijebu Ode to Asa Elegbada Village near Owode Egba to buy the herbal mixture from Ifakunle Olanrewaju, a 28-year-old traditional healer.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST on Friday, stating that Edereno was found dead in his home at 7:00 am on Thursday.
Olanrewaju, who regularly supplied the herbal mixture to the deceased, reported the incident to the police, leading to his detention for questioning.
According to Odutola, the traditional healer explained that Edereno, his long-time customer, had complained about leg pain on Wednesday and purchased the herbal remedy. Unfortunately, he was found dead the following morning.
The deceased’s body has been sent to the General Hospital, Owode Egba, for an autopsy, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.
