Two Chinese nationals, Chen Wenguang and Liang Ding, were kidnapped on Sunday in the Kémta/Abule-Owu area along Onigbedu Road, Ogun State. The duo, affiliated with Good One Carton Company, had left the company around 1:45 pm to visit friends without any security escort.
On Monday, the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the abduction and revealed that the kidnappers have contacted the company, demanding a ransom for the release of Wenguang and Ding.
Odutola stated, “The company’s security supervisor reported that one of the expatriates called to inform him of the abduction and the kidnappers’ demand for money.”
Security forces in the state, including the Ewekoro Division, local vigilantes, military personnel, and other security groups, have launched a manhunt in the Kémta Village forest to rescue the victims. Although the search has yet to yield results, efforts are ongoing to secure their safe release.
