Ohimini: Monarchs, residents hail Dr Emmanuel Ejembi for Ochobo–Agadagba road project
Traditional rulers and residents of Ohimini Local Government Area, Benue State, have applauded the Dr Emmanuel Ejembi Foundation for commencing the rehabilitation of the Ochobo–Agadagba road, an intervention community leaders describe as transformative for rural mobility and commerce.
The road project, flagged off recently, is part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to delivering essential community services across Ohimini and beyond.
The paramount ruler of Otukpo/Ohimini, His Royal Highness Chief Emmanuel Okochi, expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, noting that the community had long awaited such a development.
“Dr. Emmanuel Ejembi is not based in the country, yet from abroad he chose to open up roads in our community. Our people say it is not who is rich that gives but who has the heart to give, that is his story,” the monarch said.
He noted that although many individuals from Agadagba are wealthier, none had taken the initiative to rehabilitate the road linking Agadagba, Aume, and Ochobo.
“I urge other sons and daughters of Agadagba to emulate him. Though he lives abroad, his heart remains at home,” Chief Okochi added.
Similarly, the King of Agadagba, Chief Peter Elaigwu, praised Dr. Ejembi’s consistent philanthropy.
“Every project he undertakes reflects his love for this community. His contributions are impactful and deeply appreciated,” the monarch stated.
The Ohimini Local Government leadership formally approved the rehabilitation works. Presenting the official documentation on behalf of the council chairman, Hon. Gabriel Adole, the secretary commended the foundation for complementing government efforts.
“Government cannot do everything. We thank our brother, Dr. Ejembi, for this philanthropic work. He followed due process, and the project has our full approval,” he said.
The road project is one of several interventions by the Dr. Emmanuel Ejembi Foundation, which has also revitalized Ebu Community High School, Agadagba, a facility previously abandoned and overrun by bush.
The school now operates with modern infrastructure, 12 staff members on the foundation’s payroll, and newly secured WAEC and NECO centres. According to the principal, Mr. Owiocho Amodu, the school has attracted students from distant communities such as Ikikla, Akpuka, and Ejifa, with many boarding informally due to the distance.
Beyond education, the foundation has invested heavily in job creation through Pan Springs Fields, an integrated farm in Uhugbane, employing thousands of youths directly and indirectly.
Other interventions include:
scholarships for indigent students
support for women-led small businesses
relief materials for crisis-prone communities
donation of motorcycles to aid community security
plans to supply medical equipment to local health centres
Speaking on behalf of the founder, Hon. Ijachi Ogwuche thanked the local government for its cooperation and reaffirmed the foundation’s mission to uplift rural communities.
Community leaders across Ohimini continue to commend Dr. Ejembi for what many describe as a rare and sincere commitment to grassroots development. They prayed for his long life and prosperity, noting that though the foundation is young, its impact is already profound.
