Prince Emmanuel Odigie, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has clarified his previous comments regarding Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, insisting he never alleged that the governor was uneducated.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Thursday, Odigie emphasized that his remark referred solely to Okpebholo’s purported failure to pass the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams in 2008, even at what he termed a “miracle centre.”

“I never said Okpebholo didn’t go to school. I said he couldn’t pass WAEC in 2008, even at a miracle centre. That’s what I said. I didn’t say he didn’t go to school. So play back your tape and get your facts.

“You know, I am a fearless man who speaks truth to power. You have the tape in which I said what I said. You can replay it. Election has come and gone. Senator Monday Okpebholo is the Governor of Edo state today,” he explained.

Odigie further stressed that his focus is on moving forward rather than dwelling on past political arguments, noting that the election outcome is settled and other participants, including Esue Ighodalo, have returned to their personal pursuits.

“I do not believe in going back. I believe I’m a futuristic person. I work for today and tomorrow. Election has been won and lost.

Esue Ighodalo is now facing his business in Lagos. Monday is now the Governor of Edo,” Odigie concluded.
