English Premier League club Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks with defender Ola Aina over a contract extension, with the 28-year-old set to receive a significant wage increase, according to The Athletic.
Aina, who joined Forest in July 2023 after his contract with Serie A side Torino expired, has impressed since his arrival.
He initially signed a one-year deal with the option for an additional year, which was activated in May, extending his stay until May 2024.
As the player approaches the end of his current deal and is free to negotiate pre-contract agreements with other clubs starting in January, Forest are keen to secure his long-term future.
The new contract would reflect his contributions to the team, with Aina featuring in every Premier League match this season, scoring once, and playing a key role in Forest’s strong start to the campaign.
While Serie A giants AC Milan have shown interest in Aina, Nottingham Forest are hopeful that a contract extension will keep the versatile defender at the City Ground, fending off competition from the Italian club and others.
