The late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, known as Alli Okunmade II, was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Aliiwo around 4:30 pm on Friday.
According to a report, the monarch, who ruled for two years, passed away at the age of 81 on Thursday at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, following a brief illness.
The state’s deputy governor, Bayo Lawal, along with other government officials, attended the burial ceremony at the family’s burial ground in Aliiwo, located in the Ibadan North Local Government Area.
Prior to the burial, there was a lying-in-state ceremony held at Mapo Hall from 12 noon to 1 pm, after which the remains of the monarch were transported to Aliwo for burial following prayers.
