Egyptian Olympic wrestler Mohamed ‘Kesho’ Ibrahim was arrested in Paris on August 9 for alleged sexual assault.
According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, the arrest occurred around 5 a.m. in front of the Oz Cafe, where the 26-year-old wrestler from Egypt is accused of inappropriately touching another customer.
The Egyptian Olympic Committee (EOC) confirmed that Kesho, who won a bronze medal in Greco-Roman wrestling at the Tokyo 2020 Games, is the athlete in question.
The EOC stated that Kesho will be subject to an investigation by its ethics committee, and if the allegations are confirmed, he could face a lifetime ban from competition.
