The Executive Chairman of Omala Local Government Area, Hon. Edibo Peter Ameh Mark, has issued an Executive Order directing the immediate withdrawal of Agatu and Fulani militia groups from all lands in the LGA. The groups have been given 48 hours to vacate the area.

In a statement signed by Hon. Edibo Peter Ameh Mark, Office of the Executive Chairman, Omala Local Government Area, he emphasized that Omala can no longer tolerate its lands being used as a battlefield, noting the loss of many lives from the ongoing feud between the two groups.

He also announced the closure of Bagana Cow Market until further notice.

The Chairman further highlighted that herders previously directed to relocate to the Omala Forest Reserve have failed to comply, a situation the Local Government will no longer accept.

Omala LGA remains committed to being a safe home for all peaceful residents, but activities that threaten peace and coexistence will not be tolerated.

The Executive Order directs both Agatu and Fulani militia groups to relocate immediately, aiming to restore peace and protect lives and property across the LGA.

Residents are urged to remain calm and law-abiding while security agencies enforce compliance.
