Shops and Property worth Millions of naira were destroyed,while some persons are alleged to have sustained injuries in the early hours of Wednesday when Fulani and Hausa settlers engaged in a bloody clash at the popular Ogbese Market in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The clash which reportedly started Tuesday evening and snowballed into a full blown crisis by Wednesday morning, led to the burning down of several shops at the market.
When our correspondent visited the scene of the incident,over ten shops and other valuables have been burnt to ashes as some of the affected traders counted their losses.
Meanwhile,Reacting to the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer,Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed that investigations have commenced into the matter.
