Ondo election: Oyo gov, Makinde clears air on ordering thugs to attack Fayose

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has reacted to reports of him masterminding the attack on former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose.

Makinde denied sponsoring the thugs that assaulted Fayose in Ondo State.

Some unknown thugs had removed Fayose’s cap during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship campaign in Ondo State.

Confirming the attack, Fayose claimed that Makinde and a chieftain of the party, Bode George ordered the thugs to attack him.

However, Makinde, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Taiwo Adisa denied Fayose’s claim.

The governor, however, said he wouldn’t want to join issues with Fayose.

He said: “I believe that ex-governor Fayose and his handlers need to look far away from Oyo state in search of their enemies.

“Governor Makinde has no link whatsoever with the incident Fayose’s aide was talking about.”
