The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, delivered a charge to the newly sworn-in commissioners and special advisers on Friday, emphasizing the importance of their roles as a call to service.
Addressing the new Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip, and the newly appointed cabinet members at the swearing-in ceremony in Akure, the governor urged them to be exemplary ambassadors and to uphold their offices with integrity in the delivery of good governance to the people of the state.
Aiyedatiwa stressed the need for leadership among the appointees, urging them to bring forth innovative ideas and policies aimed at alleviating the challenges faced by the populace.
“As commissioners and special advisers, you are assuming these responsibilities at a critical time. It is imperative that you devise creative solutions and policies aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by our people.
“We cannot afford to falter in this regard. This period demands that we, as political leaders, lead by example and be ready to make necessary sacrifices by eschewing extravagant lifestyles.
“Allow me to use this opportunity to appeal to our citizens not to unduly pressure the new appointees. Let us allow them to carry out their duties without undue interference or distractions,” he remarked.
The newly inaugurated Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip, also emphasized the need for civil servants to rededicate themselves to their roles. He emphasized that his tenure would uphold punctuality, diligence, and merit-based promotion within the civil service.
The sworn-in commissioners include Mr. Emmanuel Igbasan, Engr. Razaq Obe, Mrs. Omowumi Isaac, Mr. Kayode Ajulo, Mr. Akinwumi Sowore, and Mr. Oyeniyi Oseni.
The Special Advisers appointed are Mr. Olugbenga Omole, Mrs. Olamide Falana, Hon. Alabi Johnson, Mr. Summy Smart-Francis, Mrs. Olawunmi Ilawole, Pastor Babalola Ayoade, Mr. Abdulganiy Muhammed, and Prof. Simidele Odimayo.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Mr. Emmanuel Igbasan expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the trust placed in them, promising their dedication and support for the state government.
