Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has signed the Ondo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Bill 2020 into law.
Akeredolu signed the bill in the presence of members of the State House of Assembly on Wednesday in Akure, Ondo state capital.
The State House of Assembly had on Tuesday passed bill after recommendations from various stakeholders.

The Governor explained that the outfit was strictly for the security of lives and properties in Ondo State, and would not be used for political purposes.
He said personnel of the security network will strictly be deployed for security, to work with the police on matters related and not limited to kidnapping, farmers-herdsmen clashes and sea piracy.
The Governor further expressed optimism in the success of the security network to check various security challenges in the State.
