One butchered as Ezza vs Effium war gets messier

It is with sadness that I confirm the renewed hostility between the Ezzas and Effium people of Ado Local Government. Yesterday’s crisis that ensued in Odoke and Odum communities left a woman dead and several others with varying degrees of injuries. We have an IDPs situation at hand.

I reached out to the Operations Whirlstroke and Puff Adder who wasted no time in reporting at the scene to ensure a ceasefire and restrain factions from occasioning more damage.

15 persons cumulatively have been arrested on both divides and are currently assisting police investigation.

We make to say that, the deterrence approach will be heavily implemented on those who would fail to exercise restraint on this issue. We mean no jokes about this.

I commend Rev Fr Solomon Ujah who intervened to save the lives of some men who would have been murdered as a result of the crisis.

I reiterate our commitment to the protection of the lives and properties of our people.

Chief James Oche
Executive Chairman, Ado LGA.
