One Killed, ‘Hong Kong’ injured as robbers attack Delta Community

One person was reportedly shot dead as armed robbers invaded Ibada-Amukpe community in Sapele local government area of Delta State.

The hoodlums were said to have attacked the residence of one Azar Chairman Ighonokwaye, also known as ‘Hong Kong’ in the wee hours of Saturday.

According to PUNCH, a young man simply identified as Mr. Moses was reportedly murdered in the house while the said ‘Hong Kong’ was shot on the leg.

Hong Kong reportedly retaliated by attacking one of the invading robbers, inflicting a cutlass injury on his hand.

The Vigilante Commander of the community identified as Randy Don, was said to have responded to the distress call later by visiting the robbery scene for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong has been reportedly rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he is currently receiving medical treatment over his shot leg.

Also, the community leaders have appealed to members of the public particularly health facilities and patent medicine dealers to report to the nearest police station, any suspect with machete cut on the hands.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, is yet to comment on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
