Gunmen on Monday abducted 10 passengers from a commercial vehicle along Takum-Wukari road, Taraba State.
A relative of one of the abducted travellers, Maiwada Takum, while speaking with DailyTrust noted that the kidnappers abducted seven people.
It was gathered that the gunmen who are about 10 in number also kidnapped a one-year-old boy from his mother, who was travelling on the bus.
Maiwada further stated that the van which was conveying the victims was later found in a part of the Benue forest that shares a boundary with Chanchangi town.
He added that the kidnappers have not reached out to relatives of the abducted passengers. He said the mother of the infant is traumatised and is hospitalised at a clinic in Takum.
Maiwada noted that this is the second time in three months the kidnappers abducted a large number of persons from Takum town travelling along Takum-Wukari road and almost at the same spot.
