Emmanuel Jime, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State has picked Samuel Ode, former Minister of Niger Delta Affiars (State) as running mate.
Daniel Onjeh, Chairman BoT of Project Development Institute was earlier invited for screening but he declined.
Confirming the development on Friday, Onjeh congratulated Ode for emerging as Jime’s running mate.
He wrote, “A hearty congratulation to Dr. Sam Ode mni! The journey to Benue Government House has begun with #JimeOdeTicket.
“I commend all who aspired the same position of Benue Deputy Governor :, etc.
You will all recall that when I was invited along you to the Benue APC Elders Council to be screened as candidate for the number two position in the state, I honoured the meeting and appreciated the elders for considering me worthy of the exercise, but declined and told them that you all – my brothers, present at the venue were eminently qualified , and since some of you have been aspiring the position for quite some time now, those of us who never nursed the ambition shouldn’t hinder anyone of you.
“In same vein, I urge you all to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship, and let’s forge unity in working towards the victory of #JimeOdeTicket2019.”
