Activist Deji Adeyanju has declared that only a revolution can save Nigeria.
His comment is coming amid the uproar in the country over the recent hike in pump price of petrol, which has left Nigerians in until hardship.
IDOMA VOICE reports that there has been outrage in the country over the recent hike in price of fuel from N195 to N537 and N617 per litre.
Consequently, prices of transport fares and other commodities, as well as services, have risen astronomically.
And Deji, who is a staunch critic of the current government of Bola Tinubu, believes that only a revolution will save the situation.
What is revolution?
A revolution against a government refers to a significant and radical change in the political, social, or economic structure of a country, often involving widespread public discontent and opposition to the existing ruling authorities. Revolutions occur when a significant portion of the population believes that the current government is unjust, corrupt, or oppressive, and they seek to overthrow it to create a new system that better aligns with their values and aspirations.
Revolutionary movements can take various forms, ranging from peaceful protests and civil disobedience to violent uprisings and armed conflicts. The specific causes and motivations behind revolutions vary widely, but they typically stem from grievances related to issues such as:
