Captain of the Super Falcons, Onome Ebi has confirmed that she will be out injured for 6-8 weeks with a hamstring injury.
Onome, 39, got injured while valiantly representing Nigeria against the Atlas Lioness of Morocco on Tuesday at the Stade Moulay Abdallah in Rabat, Morocco.
The Skipper confirmed on her official Twitter handle that she has been diagnosed with biceps femoris muscle tear – Grade 2 and could require 6-8 weeks to recover and return to the game.
“I’m out due to a hamstring injury (biceps femoris muscle tear – Grade 2) and could require between six weeks to two months to recover. I suffered the injury in the gruelling semi final battle against Morocco on Monday that we lost on penalty shootout in Rabat. I will be back.”
She will miss today’s third-place match against Zambia but will be available for medal collection and celebration should the Super Falcons win.
