[Opinion] Akume should stop using his media aide mkor to insult Gov Ortom by John Adeijir

The man called Aondona Mkor has been hiding behind his principal the Minister of Inter-governmental affairs, George Akume to throw stones at Governor Samuel Ortom, a man only a few years ago, he sang high praise for.

His latest diatribe against Governor Ortom was yesterday while commenting on the Governor’s patriotic call on President Buhari to be the leader of all and act in an unbiased manner to end insecurity and particularly stop supporting Fulani to take over Nigeria.

The oafish buffoon called Mkor was apparently speaking the mind of Minister Akume who has never sympathized with victims of herders attacks in Benue.

Akume should be ashamed of himself that having failed to return to the senate, he now transfers his anger towards Governor Ortom through the rapist known as Mkor. Who is Akume fooling? We know that the words Mkor captured in that statement are the Minister’s exact words. But when he sees the Governor, he will be acting like all is well. If he is not happy with Mkor’s media outings, why not sack him? It is only a master who is satisfied and comfortable with an appointee’s performance that will keep him despite public outcry.

Akume is acting like his principal President Buhari who has held tenaciously to Ali Pantami the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy even when glaring evidence points to the fact that he has links with terrorists. Shame on Senator Akume! His habit of hiding behind Aondona Mkor to attack Gov Ortom shows that he lacks the balls to face the Governor.

As for Mkor, one thing is missing in all of Mkor’s 180 degrees turn against Governor Ortom.

You don’t need to search further for the reason. Aondona Mkor has was fired by the management of Benue State University, BSU! I will tell you why.

Mkor who was until his dismissal, a junior lecturer in political science department at Benue State University (lecturer 2) was sacked after the disciplinary committee of the University Council concluded investigation into many allegations of misconduct against him including sexual harassment of female students, adoption and corruption. The committee submitted its report and Mkor was found guilty of all the allegations.

Many female students made written and verbal complaints against Mkor regarding his shameful conduct. Cases of he forcefully grabbing university girls right in his office to undress them in attempt to have sex with them were embarrassing the university.

Any attempt by the institution’s management to caution Aondona Mkor failed. He threatened those talking to him to change his behaviour that he was very close to the Governor and anyone who tried to caution him would regret it.

The committee found Mkor guilty of the allegations. Many female students testified against him while others accused him of extortion in exchange for exam marks. The disciplinary committee tendered its report and the BSU management had no option than to relieve Mkor of his appointment.

He ran to the Governor to seek intervention, but in his usual character, Governor Ortom said the law should take its course in the matter.

This is why Aondona Mkor announced that he had stopped his support of the Governor and pitched tent with Senator George Akume.

But if Mkor denies this, let him tell us why BSU sacked him. Or did he voluntarily resign as lecturer?

As for Akume, I think he is counting his days in the Federal Executive Council so his anger is understandable. He may not survive the next cabinet reshuffle.
