A 60 year-old man identified as Clement Ikechukwu Ogenyi has allegedly assaulted a 4 year-old girl (names withheld) in Otukpo local government area of Benue state.
A source close to the victim disclosed to IDOMAVOICE that Mr Ikechukwu lured the minor who went to buy vitamin C from his patent store inside his room and assaulted her sexually.
“The little came home on Tuesday walking funny so i took her inside my house a grown up woman and check her after she revealed to me that Mr Ikechukwu popularly know an Ad’Egbo’ kissed and touched her mouth and private part with his penis.”
“Immediately, i went to confront him (Mr Ikechukwu) but he denied since Tuesday this week. His friend Mr Acha is the reason why the issued had delayed till today. Mr Acha came to plead with me that hr was going to talk to his friend, so that we will all go to the hospital and do the necessary medical checks and test but he has refused since then so i decided to to report the matter to the vigilante at Igbanonmaje yesterday Friday.” The source said.
Mr Sunday Emmanuel, a witness who lives in the same environment around Bookshop road with the accused and victim came to tell the vigilante group that “this is one of the many cases of sexual assault by Mr Ikechukwu. In the year 2002, he fingered my grand daughter who was only 3 year-old then. I was so angry to the point that i engaged him in a physical combat then. But i told him that nemesis will catch up with him, now look at where his immorality has landed him.”
Major S. E. Ukwenya (Rtd), the head of the vigilante group directed that the accused, Mr Ikechukwu be handed over to the police for further investigations.
As at the time of filling this report, Mr Clement Ikechukwu Ogenyi has been put behind bars at the Nigerian Polices Station headquarters in Otukpo.
