Traditional leaders, elders and stakeholders from Sankera geopolitical zone have lauded Governor Samuel Ortom’s projects spread across the area and other parts of Benue North Senatorial District.
They spoke yesterday at Katsina-Ala town, Gbor and Tse-Dugwer during the commissioning of Central Primary School Katsina-Ala, Ikyowe-Amaafu-Gbor-Adoor-Mbaton rural electrification project and Zaki-Biam – Afia – Gbeji road projects respectively.
First to open the floor for pouring of encomiums was Senator Gabriel Suswam representing Benue North East Senatorial District. He said at a time Nigeria was grappling with financial difficulties, Governor Ortom committed billions of naira into projects to leave indelible marks on the sands of history.
He stated that it was better to do things for the community rather than individuals, stressing that in spite of distractions, the Governor had remained resolute in providing democracy dividends to the people.
Senator Suswam who muted a second impending recession since 2016, said the economy of Nigeria had already contracted by 6.5 percent, a reason to be proud of the Governor’s development strides in the midst of scarce resources.
Comrade Richard Gbande representing Sankera at the House of Representatives said giving priority to infrastructure and education was similar to enhancing the lives of the people, adding that the commissioned road would forever remain useful for economic activities.
Ter Kastina-Ala, Chief Fezanga Wombo and elder Francis Zaaya while speaking at Central Primary School Katsina-Ala, acknowledged the sustained peace initiatives of Governor Ortom in Sankera, saying with a secured environment, more development projects would spring up.
District Head of Tiir Council Ward, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Chief Johnson Boyi and Hon. Richard Gbaden, who spoke at Gbor, expressed delight over the electricity project which they noted would boost economic activities in all the satellite towns connected to electricity.
At LGEA Primary School Dugwer, Ter Ukum, Architect Orkaa Kaave, Moses Chaver Kper, and Baba Andura Dugwer, noted that the benefits people of the area would derive from the completed Zaki-Biam-Afia-Gbeji road could not be overemphasized.
They prayed God to grant Governor Ortom more fruitful years and bless the remaining part of his administration so he could bring greater dividends of democracy to Benue people.
Council Chairmen of Katsina-Ala and Ukum Local Government Areas, Hon Alfred Atera and Hon Stephen Ayua, expressed delight over the state government presence in their domains and pledged sustained support to the Ortom administration.
