The Benue State Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom has been rated as the “Best Governor” in Nigeria, according to the All Progressives Congress Chairman in Benue State, Comrade Abba Yaro.
Yaro observed that unlike the PDP counterpart, whose only achievements are on the pages of newspaper and social media, the APC government believes in action and now words.
Speaking with The Nigerian on Monday, the APC leader said what the Ortom-led government had achieved in two years has outweighed what the previous administration achieved in 8 years.
“It is funny when people say the APC-led government in Benue is worst in Nigeria. Each time I hear them I laugh because in APC, we don’t believe in media propaganda. I can confidently tell you that what this government has achieved in two years has overtaken what the last government did in eight years. Go to Benue, the records are there.
“Those hired media propagandist are not aware that the School of Nursing and Midwifery Makurdi is back to life, courtesy of this government?
“I am sure they are not aware that Agatu-Oshugbudu and Gbeji-Afia roads among others being constructed had been completed and were ready for inauguration.
This administration executed a successful amnesty programme, secured accreditation for key health institutions in the State leading to the graduation of 152 Medical Doctors from the Benue State University and resumption of academic activities at the schools of Nursing and Midwifery in Makurdi.
“This government constructed over 42 Health Care Centres, procured and supplied ambulances and essential drugs as well as execution of water and sanitation projects in 31communities across the state. What about the subsidy on assorted fertilizers that allows farmers to pay only N4, 000 per bag.
“We are just halfway into our first term and people are already calling on the governor to continue in office beyond 2019. This shows you that those people flying the rumours are in tune with reality.”
