Governor Samuel Ortom has, on behalf of his family, the Government and people of Benue State, sent heart-felt condolences to his Deputy, Engineer Benson Abounu over the death of his younger brother, Samuel Omleche Abounu, who passed on a few days ago after a brief illness.
In a condolence letter to Engineer Abounu, Governor Ortom said the death of a sibling is usually a painful experience given the bond that exists among persons of the same parents.
He said the news of the demise of Samuel Abounu came to him as a shock, moreso that the deceased was a man full of life and vigour who dedicated his time, energy and resources to the service of God and humanity.
“As Senior Assistant Registrar with the Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, he brought his rich experience to bear on the performance of his duties. His sterling qualities and deep sense of character impacted positively on the lives of those who came in contact with him,” the Governor stated.
He said though no amount of words could assuage the pains of the Abounu family, they should take solace in the fact that their son and brother lived a life worthy of emulation and had the opportunity to contribute his quota to the development of his fatherland.
Governor Ortom prayed God Almighty to grant the Deputy Governor, the Abounu family and the entire people of Otukpo Local Government Area the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
He equally prayed that the late Samuel Abounu rests in peace.
