Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Mr Terver Akase has reaffirmed the commitment of his principal to initiatives and programmes that promote the interests of youths.
The Governor’s spokesman gave the affirmation on Friday in Makurdi when he, accompanied by his wife, Mrs Jessica Akase, received the 2019 winner of Face of Fresh Fish Festival contest, Karl Princess Doosuur.
He congratulated Miss Doosuur on her victory in the competition and urged her to uphold the qualities which stood her out among other contestants.
Mr Akase encouraged the Face of Fresh Fish Festival to be a role model for the younger generation, particularly teenage girls most of who are still in school.
He said the Ortom administration has introduced a number of programmes for youth empowerment and is poised to do more in the days to come.
Mr Akase stated that Governor Ortom’s efforts are ably being complemented by the First Lady, Dr Eunice Ortom whose non-governmental organisation, Eunice Spring of Life Foundation, ESLF has been touching lives in many positive ways.
Responding, Karl Princess Doosuur thanked the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary for his show of support and encouraging words, promising not to disappoint her teeming supporters and other Benue people.
She hinted her intention to lead an awareness campaign to educate the girl-child on personal hygiene and other related issues.
