Ortom speaks on probing Lobi Stars of Makurdi

The Benue State government has denied reports alleging that it’s probing the board of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi.
Ortom, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase said the governor only set up a committee to draft guidelines and job description for the board and management of the club.
The statement said, ”It is important to clarify that Governor Samuel Ortom has NOT set up a committee to probe the Board of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi.
”The committee set up by the Governor yesterday which is headed by Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mrs Ladi Ajene has the mandate to draft guidelines and job description for the board and management staff of Lobi Stars. In addition, the committee is to clearly draw the management organogram of the club.
”The Governor’s decision became necessary to end frequent disagreements and clash of roles between the club’s management members and the Board Vice-Chairman.
”We urge the public particularly football fans to disregard any insinuation that the committee has been put in place to probe into activities of Lobi Stars management.”
