It has become necessary for our office to publicly reprimand Mr Solomon Amande, Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Media, for breaching our rules of engagement.
These rules that guide the conduct of government employees in the Media Department of the Benue Peoples House have been made available to you, Mr. Amande.
You have also been cautioned privately several times about your use of foul language on individuals and organizations particularly on Facebook in clear contravention of the rules and ethics which provide for decorum and respect in all our engagements.
We must note that we hold the mandate of the people in trust and are bound to respect their views, opinion and rights even when they differ from ours or are antagonistic.
Ours is the duty to inform, clarify, and explain with utmost respect.
We should never go out to antagonize, abuse, or reduce individuals and groups.
Henceforth, any breach of our ethics and rules of engagement will be met with severe sanctions.
You are also directed to seek reconciliation with those you may have offended by your Facebook posts.
Signed:
Tahav Agerzua
