Ortom to immortalize former Benue Governor, Rev Fr Moses Adasu

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has promised to consider the call by the people of Shangev-Tiev in Konshisha Local Government area for the immortalization of the former Governor of the State, the late Reverend Father Moses Adasu.

Speaking yesterday during a meeting with some stakeholders from the area at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi, Governor Ortom said their request was genuine and would be looked into by his government.
He said the late Reverend Father Adasu deserved the post humous recognition having served the state selflessly.

The Governor restated the resolve of his administration to complete the boundary demarcation between Konshisha and Gwer Local Government area to put to rest the lingering crisis over land affecting the two local government areas.

On the request that he should prevail on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, to restore the Shangev-Tiev State Constituency, Governor Ortom called for calm and understanding as things would eventually sort themselves out.

Earlier in a speech,the District Head of Iwarnyam Council Ward , Chief Unaha Koko whose speech was delivered by a prominent member of the Community, Mr.Terkaa Luga, had appealed to the Governor to honour one of their own, Father Moses Adasu by renaming the State University after the former Governor.

Chief Koko also appealed for the construction of some rural roads such as the Amile Gyuve-Tsuwe-Mbaakpur-Tyough Gbanya-Tsuwe Awajir road, electrification of some communities, appointment of more Shangev-Tiev sons and daughters into key positions in government and that the community be allowed to produce the First Class Chief of Jechira in addition to the completion of boundary demarcation between Konshisha and Gwer Local government areas.

He commended the Governor for the numerous achievements recorded in a short time by his administration in various sectors of the economy with limited resources.
