Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has expressed his delight at playing alongside Spain international Álvaro Morata, hinting at an exciting attacking partnership and more minutes together on the pitch.

Osimhen secured the winning goal for Galatasaray in their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Alanyaspor on Sunday, expertly heading home to bring his tally to 17 goals this season in the Turkish Super Lig. The victory helped Galatasaray maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Speaking to Turkish media outlet Fanatik, Osimhen praised Morata’s influence, emphasizing the Spaniard’s experience and tactical intelligence.

“Playing with Morata was incredible. He is an experienced player with a great understanding of attacking play and a strong team mentality,” Osimhen said. “I’m very happy to play alongside him, and we hope to have a season where both of us score plenty of goals.”

Morata, who joined Galatasaray from AC Milan in January, has made three league appearances and scored once since his arrival. Meanwhile, Osimhen continues to shine, registering 17 goals and four assists in 21 games.

However, speculation surrounds their futures, with Osimhen linked to a high-profile move away from Turkey. The Nigerian forward is expected to leave Napoli permanently after the 2024/25 season, with strong interest from the Premier League. Manchester United have emerged as a serious contender, while Arsenal are reportedly ready to trigger his €75m release clause.

For now, Osimhen remains focused on club duties and Nigeria’s upcoming international fixtures. The Super Eagles face Rwanda in Kigali on March 21 before hosting Zimbabwe on March 25 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. After missing Nigeria’s first four games due to injuries, Osimhen is eager to make his mark and help the team secure a place in the tournament after missing the 2022 edition.
