Otukpo killings: Senator Abba Moro sends delegation to assess damage, support victims

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro PhD, in response to the recent herdsmen attacks in Otukpo and Otobi, has sent a high-level delegation to the affected areas to assess the situation and offer support.

The attacks, which left both communities in distress, prompted swift action from the senator. Though currently on official assignment abroad, Senator Moro condemned the brutal killings allegedly carried out by suspected herdsmen, describing them as senseless and inhumane.

He stressed the urgent need to restore peace and security, while also ensuring justice for the victims. During the visit, the delegation met with local leaders and those affected to gather firsthand accounts of the incident and understand the immediate needs of the communities.

To provide relief, Senator Moro made a financial donation aimed at supporting victims and affected families. He reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the lives and property of his constituents and promised to collaborate with security agencies to prevent further violence.

The delegation included Rt. Hon. George Alli, former Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area and Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President; Hon. Egli Johnson Ahubi, former Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and SLA to the Deputy Senate President; Hon. Williams Ogbole, former Deputy Speaker and SLA to the Deputy Senate President; Rt. Hon. Solomon Onah, former General Manager of BENSESA; Hon. Okanga Okponya-Ode, former member of the Benue State House of Assembly and Special Assistant to the Senate Minority Leader on Political Affairs; and Hon. Igoche Ajaka, among others.

Senator Moro reiterated his dedication to the safety and well-being of the people of Benue South and vowed to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
