Otukpo LG boss, George Alli donates Wheel chairs to disables (Photos)

No fewer than fifty disabled men and women today Tuesday November 5th, 2019 in the Trado-political capital of Idoma land went into heavy jubilation following the distribution of Tricycles to them by the Caretaker Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Chief George Alli.

The First Lady, Dr (Mrs) Eunice Ortom who was present at the event, thanked both the Council Chairman and management of the Faith Based Organization for the kind gesture.

Mrs Ortom in speech poured encomiums on Chief George Alli for his laudable achievements stressing that she was ready to partner with the Chairman in order to develop the locality.

According to the First Lady, anyone who assist those living with disabilities is building his treasure in heaven.

She enjoyed People not to jubilate at the plights of others saying that, “we are alive today because of our anticipated positive contribution to humanity. That we are who we are today does not make us better than those living with disabilities”.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman, Chief George Alli, said he decided to ameliorate the plights of the disabled in the locality in conjunction with Dr Grace Ogwuche, former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Also speaking, Ayuba Buki and Dr Hulland Rice, who spoke on behalf of The Beautiful Gate Foundation (NGO) said the organization derived it’s name from the scripture especially the gospel of John the Baptist.

According to them, “I have no money but I give you what I have, stressing that the items were donated free of charge as a token of their contribution to humanity”.

Similarly, the Executive Secretary, Benue State Rehabilitation Board, Hembadoon Gum, who was full of appreciation to the executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council and the State first lady disclosed that machinery has been put in place to empower People living with disabilities in the state.

She called on Otukpo local government Chairman not to discriminate against people living with disabilities in the area.

In his words, “I want to thank you for this wonderful gesture. I mean all of you that had made this occasion successful.

“Kindly remember these people when ever their is opportunity for employment in Otukpo local government area,” she added.

The wife of the Deputy Governor, Justice (Mrs) Mary Abounu who displayed her prowess in Idoma language while speaking thanked God and all those responsible for the distribution of the tricycle.

The event was graced with a galaxy of personalities including the Paramount Ruler of the Otukpo Chiefdom, PDP Women Leaders amongst many others.
