The deputy speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Egli Johnson Ahubi has officially declared the fourth edition of his annual unity cup open at Ojali Oglewu, Ohimini local government of Benue.
Hon. Egli who is the incubent member representing Otukpo/Akpa constituency at the Assembly and Otukpo/Ohimini House of Representatives hopeful in 2019 while giving his opening speech reiterates his vision to engage youths in meaningful activities like football in order to keep them away from cultism and other related vices from time to time and to also create opportunities and the right platform to showcase fresh and raw talents in Idoma land to the world.
The football event which was kicked off by Hon. Adakole Akatu, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in Ohimini featured the Net Tearers of Idekpa who lost to Ijami United one goal to nothing in the opening ceremony.
The dual football competition, according to the officials will be featuring 112 teams in general but will have single champions in the two local government areas.
Dignitaries present includes: Hon. Gabriel Olofu, Hon. Oklo Oklo, Hon. Adah Alechenu, Chief Akpe Obogo amongst others.
