Otukpo/Ohimini 2019: Adoka stands still for Egli Ahubi as APC, APGA lose supporters to PDP (Photos)

The Adoka community of Otukpo local government on Wednesday February 6th, 2019 witnessed a major political transformation as major stakeholders and party executives of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) dumped the parties for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The development came up moments after the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Egli Johnson Ahubi who is also Otukpo/Ohimini federal constituency candidate on the platform of the PDP in the forthcoming February 16th elections launched his Ward-to-Ward tour in Otukpo local government in Entekpa, a suburb of Adoka.

The campaign train which was led by the incubent Member representing Otukpo/Ohimini constituency at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Awulu Adaji and the Benue PDP women leader, Mrs Cynthia Abeje Egwa recieved a structure that house no fewer than 5, 350 staunch members and supporters of the APC and APGA into the PDP at Adoka center.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Mrs Patricia Obiabo Edache AKA Mrs Terror who before now was the women leader of the APC but defected to APGA due to unfair treatment according to her said “I initially thought the APC was good but discovered that it’s a rotten party filled with hate and people who treat others unjustly. After several years of service to them (APC) I decided to switch to APGA and discovered that it was even worse, the party is filled with sadists and political extremists.

“Now, after due and proper consultations and the love and respect I have for Chief Achegbulu and my husband who are PDP faithfuls, today I officially consider myself and my colleagues who are members of my association and we are 350 in number all PDP members from today. ” She added

Also speaking, Hon. Ochiefa who also was a major APC leader in the area said “the APC has nothing to offer anyone” as he went further to say that he’s a graduate and a building engineer by profession but has nothing to show for his services for the APC.

According to him: “I have a structure that controls over 5000 persons but I want to assure Hon. Egli today that for fixing our electricity problem even when it’s outside your jurisdiction, me and my people have resolved to deliver no fewer than 10, 000 votes to you and the other PDP candidates.

“We want you to consider us also as PDP members from today henceforth.” He added.

Hon. Egli Ahubi in his remark welcome and thank the decampees for their foresight and realizing that PDP remains the last hope for the common man.

In his wards: I thank you all for coming to the PDP, and also my leader Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji for demonstrating true leadership, may God bless and empower you the more.

“We have all seen that the APC is an abomination, nothing good comes out of them, they came and were shouting change but when given the opportunity, they doubled our problems for us.

“Today, we are urging you all to refuse and reject them because they have failed woefully, let’s vote for Atiku Abubakar for president because he has the capacity and knowledge to fix Nigeria unlike Buhari, let’s also vote for Comrade Abba Moro who we all know as Mr empowerment as our senator, vote for me (Egli Johnson Ahubi) as Otukpo/Ohimini federal House of Representatives member and I’m assuring you of effective and good representation because I’m already aware of some of your major issues like your inability to access good and healthy water easily, I’m assuring you that I will make sure the phenomenon is put to a halt if elected. ” The house of Representatives hopeful added.

Similarly, Hon. Michael Audu the PDP candidate for Adoka/Ugboju state constituency promised to represent the people effectively saying that he will be different from Okloho who has nothing to show as the people’s representative since 2015.

Those in attendance includes Rt. Hon. Austin Awodi, Hon. Momoh Uji, Chief David Onyilokwu Ekwo, Chief Adakole Friday Elijah, Hon. Oklo Oklo, Hon. Gabriel Olofu, Hon. Mrs Ann Ode, Chief Jubilee Oono, Hon. Ochi Igbabe, Hon. Chief Ajeibi Obogo, Hon. John Otoh, Hon. Monday Edache, Hon. Ikape amongst others.
