The House of Representatives candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Orukpo/Ohimini federal constituency, Engr Johnson Ahubi, said he is in politics to better the lots of the people.
Engr Ahubi made this statement yesterday during a campaign visit to Otada in Ewulo council ward of Otukpo local government area.
He said as an orphan his aspirations should spark the hopes of all the down trodden saying “if I can be where I am today, any of these children could be something tomorrow”.
He urged the people to discountenance with the candidate of the All progressive Grand Alliance because ” when they held sway as chairman of Otukpo local government Council, what did they do for the benefit of mankind?”
He elucidated further that, “the husband was a chairman of our local government council for two conservative times, did he and the wife bother to know this place?.
Engr Ahubi who is the current Deputy Speaker, Benue House of Assembly urged the Otada people to vote massively for all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic party starting from Presidential to House of Assembly.
Earlier, former Special Assistant to the Former President of the Senate, Dr FridayAdakole Elijah who thanked the House of Representatives hopeful assured him that the community would not depart from her tradition of voting for him and all PDP candidates.
Dr Elijah said the community’s fidelity was due to the fact that the Peoples Democratic party was solely responsible for several developmental projects in the area.
He listed the projects as a block of two class rooms constructed by Chief Ezekiel Adaji, two blocks of three class rooms constructed by Senator David Mark, four electricity transformers, tarring of road, and the establishment of National Youth Center in the community.
Dr Elijah said the community would not disappoint PDP in the forth coming elections.
Also Speaking, the Otada Youth Leader and Women Leader, Ben Onche Egwu and Augustina Odeh all assured that Engr Ahubi and all PDP candidates would be voted massively by members of the community.
