Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has called on Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to dialogue with the aggrieved parties in the ongoing unrest in Igangan, Ibarapa LGA of the state.
IDOMA VOICE reports that the community has been on fire following the ejection of Fulani settlers by angry youths.
In a post on his Facebook, Fayose said if they Nigerian Government could dialogue with Boko Haram terrorists, Makinde should follow suit and invite Sunday Igboho and his team to a roundtable.
His post reads below.
“Gov. Seyi Makinde should rather use dialogue and persuasion instead of escalating tensions in his own State by calling for the arrest of Sunday Adeyemo.
“If FG and some Governors could ‘dialogue’ with Boko Haram terrorists, Gov. Makinde calling all stakeholders to a round-table discussion will not be misplaced action.
“Any attempt to arrest anyone will cause serious threats to the fragile peace in the West and the nation. Above all any unchecked escalation may lead to a state of emergency.”
