Panic in Osun as gunmen kill five farmers

There is anxiety in Modakeke in Osun State as suspected gunmen ambushed five farmers and shot them dead.

Our correspondent gathered that the incident which happened at around 7am on Friday has caused panic among residents of the town.

Policemen and some residents were said to have visited the scene of the incident along Toro Road in the town to ascertain what happened.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the killings said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Olawale Olokode, had deployed additional policemen in the area.

The PPRO said,” The police are doing everything to restore peace in the area. Investigation has already strayed into the incident.”
