Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has addressed the viral AI-generated image that depicted him as an alhaji.
In December 2024, images circulated online showing Adeboye in Islamic attire, sparking significant attention. One such image, shared by an X user (@Sarkideyforyou), showed the pastor standing in front of the Kaabah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The post, which included the caption “Pastor Adeboye may Allah guide you to the right path,” gained considerable traction, with over 3.8 million views, 1,500 reposts, 1,800 comments, and 4,000 likes by December 22, 2024.
During the first Holy Ghost Night service of 2025, held in the early hours of Saturday, January 4, Adeboye acknowledged the image, saying, “I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji.”
While addressing his congregation, Adeboye also urged prayers for global peace, particularly to prevent the outbreak of another world war. He warned of the increasing number of mockers, predicting that many would not survive the year, but emphasized that God does not wish for the death of sinners.
The pastor prophesied that 2025 would bring an unprecedented, massive earthquake. He also reassured the congregation that despite current hardships, the future holds brighter prospects, as God’s divine purpose for humanity remains central. Adeboye reminded his listeners that God isn’t rushing to take people to heaven, as He needs them to fulfill His mission on Earth.
