Earlier today, the State leadership of the Labour party fortified the party’s structures in Gwer East and Gwer West Local Governments with the infusion of new members and the restructuring of the party exco in both Local Governments.
The decampees include Gwer West Local Government APC Secretary Hon. Abwar Shimawua, PDP Chairman Ikyaghev Council Ward Gwer West Hon. Gum Terkula, Hon. Asange Ishor and Hon. Jacob Njuda, both from Gwer East amongst several others.
Receiving them at the State Secretariat of the party in Makurdi, Comr. Ibrahim Idoko Otene represented by the State Publicity Secretary Comr. Kengkeng Ati welcomed the new members and urged them to work hard for the development of the party and its success in all the elections.
Speaking at the event, House of Representatives Candidate for Gwer East/Gwer West Hon. Engr. Benjamin Tersen Aernyi welcomed the decampees and thanked them for the boldness to stand up and be counted at this time that it mattered most. He also urged them to leave no stone unturned to ensure unity in the party and victory at all levels in the 2023 polls.
Hon. Shimawua Abwar who spoke on behalf of the Gwer West contingent appreciated the party leadership for embracing them into the family and promised to do everything within his power to ensure that Labour Party wins the 2023 Elections in Gwer West Local Government.
Hon. Jacob Njunda who spoke on behalf of the Gwer East people also assured the party leadership of his strong conviction that Labour Party is the party that will bring the true dividends of democracy to the people.
Hon. Gum Terkula will serve as Labour Party Chairman in Gwer West while Hon. Abwar Shimawua will be the Secretary. Hon. Asange Ishor will be the new Chairman of Gwer East while Hon. Jacob Njuda will be the Secretary.
