PDP governors send message to Tinubu over appointment of Wike as minister

The Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum conveyed its heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for appointing the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. The commendation was made during a courtesy visit to Minister Wike’s office on Wednesday.

The chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, conveyed the forum’s sentiments, highlighting the significance of Wike’s new role in the FCT. Governor Mohammed emphasized that the FCT’s status is akin to that of a state, underscoring the importance of the ministerial position. He expressed the forum’s gratitude to President Tinubu for making this appointment, despite Minister Wike’s affiliation with the PDP.

Governor Mohammed stated, “At the risk of being accused of flattery, we really appreciate Mr. President and Nyesom Wike. Again, giving him this office at the FCT, which is like a state, in spite of the fact that he is still one of us as a PDP member, has shown the kind of leadership that Mr. President has.”
