The newly elected National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu says the party is back and ready to rescue Nigeria from the claws of misrule by the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He also described the APC as a contraption and does not deserve to rule the country.
Senator Ayu spoke Sunday morning, October 31st, 2021 at the Eagle Square, Abuja shortly after he was returned elected by the PDP 2021 elective National Convention electoral committee.
Adamawa State Governor and Chief Returning Officer of the election, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said Senator Ayu scored a total of 3,426 votes to emerge National Chairman of the PDP, having contested unopposed.
He stated that the APC is a contraption and only the PDP is a true democratic political party in Nigeria, stressing that the success of the convention is a quit notice to the APC.
According to Senator Ayu, the PDP under his leadership will wrestle power from the opposition APC, unite and develop the country that has been so divided along ethnic and religious lines by the misrule of the APC that has laid the country bare and insecured with rampant cases of kidnappings and unrest.
The newly elected National Chairman of the PDP assured party supporters that in the months ahead, the membership of the party will begin to swell across states as his executive council will begin to reach out to other Nigerians for the purposes of rescuing the country.
He thanked the PDP family for their tireless efforts which led to the success of the convention.
Ayu’s declaration this morning by the electoral committee was greeted with wide jubilation from Governors and other leaders of the PDP in the country who converged on Eagle Square.
