‘PDP is dead’ – Deji Adeyanju
Deji Adeyanju, a political activist, has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as “dead” and largely irrelevant, noting that most state governors have moved to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adeyanju argued that even as a weakened party, the PDP should still be allowed to operate as a functioning opposition.
Reacting to the violent clashes at the PDP national headquarters earlier today, he called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to publicly distance himself from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, asserting that Wike appears more focused on personal theatrics than on responsible political leadership.
“The PDP is dead and has lost relevance completely, with most governors having moved to the APC.
Even as a dead party, it should still be allowed to function as an opposition party. Following today’s violence at the PDP headquarters, it is important that President Tinubu publicly distances himself from Wike, who seems more intent on being a palace jester than acting responsibly,” Adeyanju said.
