The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro, Friday, stated that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was on a rescue mission, to rescue Nigeria from the misrule of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senator Moro, a founding member of PDP, stated this while answering questions from pressmen who sought to know his thoughts on the National Convention of the party slated for Saturday and Sunday in Abuja.
The Senator said Nigeria was bleeding from insecurity, poverty, unemployment and economic downtown, he said the convention was a platform to elect new National Executives of the party, majority of who, he said, had already emerged as consensuses, and also to inform Nigerians that the party is out to rescue the country from the myriads of problems confronting her.
His words;
“The major issue that will be canvassed tomorrow will be the issue of rescuing Nigeria from abject poverty, insecurity and the myriads of problems confronting the country orchestrated by the misrule of APC . PDP is on a rescue mission and I believe that Nigerians who have tasted both parties know that the situation, under APC, is getting worse and worse, and not abating.
“Fortunately for PDP, the ruling APC has not accepted the fact that there’s problem on ground, even with the growing insecurity, growing poverty, growing unemployment and all the visible problems staring all of us in the face.
“So PDP’s message to Nigerians will be straight forward; to rescue the country from misrule, and I believe Nigerians will appreciate the party for that. Nigerians, having gone through the leadership of both PDP and APC, now know the difference. They are not gullible people, they won’t take excuses hook, line and sinker anymore.
“I believe sincerely that when we roll out the drums to tell Nigerians our own side of the story, viz a viz what is on ground now, they will agree with us and accept PDP on the rescue mission.”
