The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied allegations of signature forgery made by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, addressed the issue while briefing journalists on Monday in Abuja.
Ologunagba dismissed Anyanwu’s claim that his signature was falsified in letters sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), notifying it of the date, time, and venue for the party’s elective convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to him, the national secretary personally signed the letters in question.
He further presented copies of communications between Anyanwu and other members of the party’s leadership, including records of his involvement with the contact and mobilisation committee, where he served as secretary.
Anyanwu had earlier petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Inspector-General of Police, alleging that his signature was forged in the correspondence to INEC.
Further developments on the matter are expected….
