The Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced its readiness to participate in the upcoming local government elections in the state.
This decision follows extensive consultations with party leaders and members. Chairman John Ngbede made this announcement during an expanded caucus meeting on Monday in Makurdi.
The Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) had earlier declared the council election at a stakeholders’ meeting in Makurdi.
Ngbede emphasized that PDP is committed to participating in the election and resisting the ruling APC to bring development to the grassroots, as it did during its previous tenure in the state.
“We have set the machinery in motion, following the guidelines set by BSIEC,” Ngbede said.
“We will begin selling forms to aspirants, and screenings of candidates will commence soon. The chairmanship form costs N150,000, while the councilorship form costs N75,000.”
