Borno State Governor, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State on Monday appeared at the office of the Auditor General for Local Government, venue of the State ongoing pensioners’ verification exercise.
The governor, who earlier attended to several heads of Agencies and parastatal at his annex office at the State Secretariat Complex, enjoined the verification committee to adhere strictly to their terms of reference.
Zulum during the visit had one on one interaction with some of the pensioners present at the venue.
The Governor’s visit was to assess the progress of the exercise been carried out by the committee inaugurated in September 2020 to verify retired workers across the 27 local government areas in Borno, in preparation for payment of pensions and gratuities government is owing retirees.
Zulum also had an interface with the committee members, where he examined documents presented by the retirees.
