1. The video of a Nigerian issuing a threat ahead of the 2023 presidential election emerged at the weekend.

The youth is seen brandishing a pistol while campaigning for Peter Obi in a violent manner.

2. The Concerned Nigerians for the Protection of Human Rights and Rule of Law Initiative has condemned petitions by supporters of Peter Obi, the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate to ban dissenting voices against their preferred candidate.

The group said the call to ban socio-political commentators like Reno Omokri, Omoyele Sowore, Deji Adeyanju, and Sega Awosanya from Twitter for opposing Obi’s ambition should be condemned.

3. Enugu State youths, on Sunday, re-echoed their unflinching support for Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration.

Representatives of Concerned Youths of Enugu State spoke after a rally held in Nsukka, Enugu State, in support of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, clarifying that it was not in any way meant to malign Governor Ugwuanyi.

4. Reno Omokri, a former Media Aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has dismissed reports that he demanded $100,000 from the presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi.

In a series of tweets, Omokri said he only exchanged emails with Obi when he was trying to lobby him for the role of vice presidential candidate in 2019.

5. Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has clarified that those disguised as his supporters, attacking other candidates, particularly on social media, are from the camp of his opponents.

Speaking with BBC Pidgin on Sunday, Mr Obi declared that they are not his supporters, stressing that the ‘Obi-dients’ have been infiltrated by the opponents.

6. The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi has revealed two methods his administration would use to tackle insecurity if he is elected as Nigerian President in 2023.

The former Anambra State governor stated that the first thing his administration would do is to pull Nigerians out of poverty.

7. Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted to remakes by the presidential candidate of New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso linking his counterpart from Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi to the Biafra group.

Ejimakor said it’s a plus that Kwankwaso and the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar are linking Obi to IPOB.

8. Favour Bassey Otu, a journalist with Silverbird Television, has resigned her job to support Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), in the 2023 general election.
The broadcast journalist made the announcement on her Twitter page on Saturday.
Otu said she made the decision to quit her job and support Obi because she is not allowed to be partisan due to the nature of her work.
9. A group known as AKACHUKWU Liberation Movement, weekend stated that the presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Dr. Peter Obi, in the 2023 general election, has his credibility, credentials and character as an edge over other candidates in the presidential race.

The leader of the group, Prince Chidi Ezeorji who stated this during the group’s meeting in Abakaliki, emphasized that “Nigeria needs Peter Obi more than Peter Obi needs Nigeria.”

10. Political activist, Deji Adeyanju has labelled former Governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi, as a scam who is playing on the intelligence of his followers by pretending to live a humble life.
Adeyanju who was responding to online remarks and praises showered on Obi by his supporters over claims that the 2023 presidential hopeful does not fly private jet, said contrary to what his fans and followers believe, the former Anambra State governor has been using private jets for years.
