Prominent political figures and dignitaries converged in Kano to celebrate the wedding Fatiha of Amir, the son of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin. The event took on an additional layer of significance with the presence of presidential candidate Peter Obi from the Labour Party, a gesture that Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised as a representation of a unified Nigeria.

Speaking after the event, Senate President Akpabio underscored the importance of Peter Obi’s attendance and commended the diverse array of high-profile guests who graced the occasion.

He added that the turnout not only highlighted the joyous occasion but also underscored Senator Barau Jibrin’s reputation as a man of peace and a unifying force within the nation.

The wedding Fatiha, a cherished moment in the Jibrin family, was further dignified by the presence of Vice President Kashim Shettima. The ceremonial union brought together Amir and Bilkisu Aliyu Sani Madaki, the daughter of Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Aliyu Sani Madaki.
