Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a chieftain of the Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo, has explained why the party doesn’t give money (shishi).
Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi are known for their policy of not giving anybody money.
Speaking on Channels TV and monitored by our reporters, the Nollywood veteran said they were tied of vote buying in Nigeria.
He said, “In Labour Party, we do not give ‘shishi’. We are tired of vote buying in Nigeria.
“The slogan that we don’t give shishi was given to us by Nigerians. It was the Obidients that came up with that slogan. That means that Nigerians will not succumb to the blackmail of vote buying.”
